When you find a job with HireArt, you will also receive a $50 gift card to Kiva.org. There, you can make a loan to a cause you believe in. That’s how “Get Hired & Give Back” works — you get to spread the good feeling of getting a job around the world. You’ll also have the opportunity to be featured on our blog, and tell everyone about your new job and your Kiva.org loan.
This week we’ll be talking to Claudia Price.
How did you hear about HireArt?
I found the HireArt website through Indeed.com, when I was applying to work at Zerve.
How did HireArt set itself apart from other job-seeking platforms?
I like that HireArt did the screening for me. Once they thought I would be a great fit, they connected me with Zerve immediately. The screening process took about two weeks. After an in-person interview, I got the job a week later.
I couldn’t be more appreciative than I am today. HireArt not only helped me find a job that I enjoy, but they also helped me build a network of connections.
Which job-seeking challenges did HireArt help you overcome?
I didn’t know what I was looking for in an internship, and I struggled with the fact that I had to find something that worked with my basketball schedule. HireArt made it easy for me; they were able to show me jobs that fit my criteria and made the interview process painless.
Do you have any advice for new HireArt users?
Be persistent, and be yourself. The platform makes it much easier to apply to jobs, so don’t stress out too much.
Tell us about your new job. What’s your role at Zerve?
My current role at Zerve is as a Customer Service representative that helps with ticketing and customer service with numerous companies around the country. I am also part of the sales team. I find thousands of potential clients and estimate how we could be of benefit to those companies, and how they could benefit from us.
Why did you want to work there?
I wanted to work for Zerve because I thought it would be a great opportunity to gain some telecommunication and sales experience before I graduate from college. As a student athlete who struggled to find an internship that worked around my schedule, I am thankful to have found a company that allows me to grow, learn, and help others.
How does it compare to your previous jobs?
I was a sales representative for Target Mobile, so it’s similar in that I still sell things to people, except now I do so in a professional environment. It’s completely different from working at a store all day long. I like the feeling of having a desk and being around young, enthusiastic individuals like myself. Another bonus is that Zerve is a startup in one of the best cities in the world to be working in – New York City.
Tell us about your kiva.org donation. What inspired you to donate to this cause?
The group in which I made a donation to is the Cumbre 7 Group. I helped them out because I wanted them to be able to provide for their family, and the mother’s baby. I also want to say that what Kiva is doing is a true blessing for people around the world, and I think they are special in every way for doing what they do.
